Generate subtitles from any video — free

Subtitles make a video accessible, searchable and watchable on mute. AI Caption Cut generates them automatically from your video’s audio, on your own device, and lets you export a standard SRT or VTT file — or a captioned MP4 — free, with nothing uploaded.

Auto-transcribe, then fine-tune

Speech-to-text transcribes your video with timing for every line, so the subtitles are already synced. You can edit any line’s text or timing, split and merge cues, and get the wording exactly right before you export.

Already have subtitles? Import an existing SRT or VTT to restyle or fix it, instead of starting over.

Export SRT, VTT, or a captioned MP4

Download a standard .srt or .vtt file to upload alongside your video on YouTube, Vimeo or a course platform — or burn the captions into an MP4 so they show everywhere, including on social apps that ignore subtitle files.

Word-level timing means the burned-in version can highlight word by word, which plain subtitle files cannot do.

Free, and it stays on your device

Your video is transcribed in your browser and never uploaded — useful for anything confidential, and it removes the upload wait and file-size cap entirely.

AI Caption Cut is free to use with unlimited 480p exports that carry a small watermark. Removing the watermark is a one-off payment per video — ₹39 for 720p, ₹59 for 1080p (Full HD). There is no subscription and no account.

Questions

Can I download subtitles as an SRT file?

Yes. After generating, export a standard .srt or .vtt subtitle file — or a captioned MP4 with the subtitles burned in. Exporting the subtitle file is free.

How accurate are the auto-generated subtitles?

Accuracy is good on clear speech, and you can edit any line before exporting. Choosing the spoken language before you generate improves both wording and timing.

Does it upload my video to make subtitles?

No. Transcription runs on your own device, so the video is never uploaded — no wait, no size limit, and nothing stored on a server.

What languages are supported?

A dozen or so, including English and Hindi/Hinglish. Select the spoken language before generating for the most accurate result.
