AI Caption Cut vs AutoCaption.io
Both do the same job — stylish captions for Reels and Shorts. The difference that matters is not the templates. It is that AutoCaption.io meters your video by length, size and count, and AI Caption Cut does not meter it at all.

The two-minute problem
AutoCaption.io’s entry plan will not caption a video longer than two minutes. Their middle plan stops at three. Their top plan, at $39 a month, stops at six.
That rules out a podcast clip, a tutorial, a talking-head explainer, a webinar cut, or a sermon — on any tier they sell. Not "it costs more": there is no plan to upgrade to.
AI Caption Cut has no length limit at all, on the free tier included.
The reason is architectural, not generous. Cloud caption tools rent GPUs by the minute, so every minute of your video costs them money — which is why their plans meter you by video length, upload size or credits. AI Caption Cut renders on your own device, so a longer video costs us nothing. There is no meter to run.
What a long video actually costs you here
Honesty matters more than a marketing line: a long video is not instant. Captions are generated by a speech model running on your own processor, so a 40-minute video takes real minutes to transcribe, and a slow laptop takes longer than a fast one.
What it does not do is refuse, meter you, or charge more. You can leave it running and come back — and nothing about it was uploaded.
The honest gaps
AutoCaption.io translates into 100+ languages and can publish straight to your social accounts. We do neither. You get an MP4 and you post it yourself.
Questions
Is there a limit on video length in AI Caption Cut?
No. There is no cap on video length, file size, or how many videos you caption — on the free tier included. Longer videos simply take longer to transcribe, because the speech model runs on your own device.
How much does AI Caption Cut cost compared to AutoCaption.io?
AI Caption Cut is free to use, with unlimited exports at 480p carrying a small watermark. Removing the watermark is a one-off payment for that one video — 720p, or full 1080p at 60fps — or an Unlimited Pass that covers every export for thirty days. Subtitle files are free either way. It is charged in your own currency at checkout, and there is no subscription and no account. AutoCaption.io’s plans were listed at $18, $25 and $39 per month when this page was checked in July 2026.
Can AI Caption Cut caption a video longer than 6 minutes?
Yes. There is no length limit. A 6-minute cap is a property of cloud tools that rent GPUs by the minute; AI Caption Cut renders on your device, so length costs it nothing.
