Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 August 2026. AI Caption Cut is a caption generator that runs inside your browser. Your video is never uploaded to us, because there is nothing on our side to upload it to — the transcription, the styling and the render all happen on your own device. This page explains that, and is honest about the few things that do leave your browser.
Your video, audio and captions never reach us
When you add a video, the file is read straight from your disk by your browser. The speech-to-text model runs on your device, the preview is drawn on your device, and the exported MP4 is encoded on your device and saved back to your disk.
We do not receive your video, your audio, your captions, a transcript or a single frame of any of it. We could not hand them to anyone, respond to a request for them, or lose them in a breach — because we never hold them.
Projects you save are stored by your own browser on your own device. Clearing your browser storage deletes them, and nobody else can read them.
What we do collect
Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand which pages people find useful and where they get stuck. Between them these record page views, referring links, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and on-page interaction such as clicks and scrolling — Clarity also records a replay of that interaction with the page. None of it can include your video, which never leaves your device.
A visitor count. The first time you open the site your browser records a flag locally and increments a single running total we keep, so the number shown on the homepage counts each browser once. That total is a number. It carries no identifier of any kind.
Payments. If you pay to remove the watermark, the payment is handled by Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on their systems, never ours — we do not see them and do not store them. We receive the payment and order reference confirming the payment succeeded, and use it to unlock that export.
Server logs. The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs, including IP addresses, in order to serve the site and defend it from abuse.
Email you send us. If you write to support, we have your address and whatever you put in the message, for as long as it takes to help you.
What we never do
We do not ask for an account, a name, a phone number or an email address in order to use the product. There is no sign-up.
We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone for their own marketing.
We do not train a model on your video. The speech-to-text model is downloaded to your device already trained, and nothing goes back.
Cookies and local storage
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set their own cookies, which is how they tell a returning visit from a new one. Blocking them in your browser, or using an extension that blocks them, does not stop the product working — captioning, editing and export are unaffected.
The product itself uses your browser’s own storage to keep your projects, your settings and the visit flag. That is storage on your device, readable only by your browser.
Your choices
Because we hold no account, there is very little about you for us to delete — but if you have written to us and would like that correspondence removed, or want to know what we hold, write to support@aicaptioncut.com and we will act on it.
To opt out of the analytics, block cookies for this site or use a content blocker. To delete everything the product has stored, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
Children
AI Caption Cut is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect nothing from them.
Changes, and how to reach us
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. Questions about any of it: support@aicaptioncut.com.
Questions
Is my video really not uploaded?
Really. You can check it yourself: open your browser’s network tab while you generate captions and export, or disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded — captioning and export both still work, because both run on your device.
Do you keep my transcript?
No. The transcript is produced on your device and stays there, inside the project your browser saved. We never receive it.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email and no password, so there is no profile of you to hold in the first place.
