About AI Caption Cut
AI Caption Cut — also written aicaptioncut, after the domain — is built and run by Karamjeet Singh. It captions video entirely inside your browser: your footage is read from your own disk, processed on your own machine, and never uploaded anywhere. You do not have to take that on trust — the next section is how to check it.
Check it yourself
Open the editor and press F12 for your browser developer tools. Watch the Network tab while you load a video and generate captions: your file appears in no request. Nothing containing your footage is ever sent.
The blunter test takes ten seconds. Load the site once, turn on airplane mode, and caption a video anyway. It works. A tool that uploads your video cannot do that.
The one thing that does travel is the speech model, downloaded once from the Hugging Face CDN and then cached by your browser. That traffic goes the other way — files coming to you, not your video going out.
Why it runs on your device
Cloud caption tools rent GPUs by the minute, so every minute of your video costs them money. That is why their plans meter you by length, upload size or credits. AI Caption Cut renders on your own hardware, so a longer video costs nothing and there is no meter to run.
The privacy follows from that rather than being promised on top of it. A cloud tool has to be trusted not to keep your footage; this one has nothing to keep. That is a smaller thing to ask of you, which is the point.
How it makes money
The editor is free, with unlimited 480p exports carrying a small watermark. Removing the watermark is a one-off payment for that video — 720p, or full 1080p — or a 30-day Unlimited Pass, charged in your own currency. Subtitle files are free either way. Nothing renews and no card is stored.
There is no advertising, nothing sold to anyone, and no data product. The only revenue is people choosing to pay for one export, which is the business model that does not require your footage to be worth anything to us.

How do I know my video is not being uploaded?
Verify it rather than believe it. Open your browser developer tools (F12) and watch the Network tab while you caption a video — your file appears in no request. Or load the site once, go offline, and caption anyway. It works, which a tool that uploads your footage cannot do.
Do you store my videos or captions?
No. Your video is read from your disk into the browser tab and rendered there. Projects are saved in your own browser storage, not on a server, and nobody else can retrieve them.
