Put captions on your videos — without uploading them anywhere.

I got tired of handing my videos to some website just to add subtitles. So I built one that never does. The transcription, the styling and the final render all run on your own device — nothing to install, no account, nothing uploaded.

Everything you need to caption a short video

Built for reels, shorts and TikToks — the captions people actually stop scrolling for.

Automatic captions

Speech-to-text turns your audio into captions with word-level timing, so karaoke highlighting lands on the right syllable. Fix any word by double-clicking it.

Caption styles

Trending, bold, clean, elegant, fun and minimal. Every template is a real preview — what you see is exactly what exports.

Caption animations

Pop, bounce, typewriter, blur, wave, slide and more — each one combines with word-by-word karaoke highlighting.

Real editing

Trim and split on the timeline, join clips, crop to 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9, change speed, and drop text on top.

Private by design

Your video is never uploaded. It is read straight from your disk, rendered on your device, and saved back there.

Free MP4 export

Burn captions in and download straight to your device, free and unlimited, with no account. Pay once to drop the watermark and go higher than 480p.

  3. 3

  4. 4

    Export

Preview it full screen, then download the finished MP4 to your device.

Caption styles, ready to go

Every style is a genuine preview drawn by the same renderer that makes your final video, so there are no surprises at export.

Is AI Caption Cut right for you?

A good fit if you want to…

  • Caption a video without creating an account or handing over an email.
  • Keep private, client or unreleased footage off someone else's servers — nothing is uploaded.
  • Pay once for the video you are making, instead of a monthly subscription.
  • Work on short-form clips: Reels, Shorts and TikToks.
  • Caption on your phone, or offline on a plane.

Probably not for you if you need…

  • A free export with no watermark — free exports are 480p and carry a small mark.
  • To caption long-form video. Rendering runs on your own hardware, so a feature-length file takes proportionally longer.
  • Team collaboration, cloud projects or a shared asset library.
  • To export dozens of videos a day — a subscription tool will cost you less.

Frequently asked questions

Is AI Caption Cut free?+

Yes. You can add a video, generate captions, style them and export as many finished videos as you like for free, with no account. Free exports are 480p and carry a small AI Caption Cut watermark in the corner. Paying once removes the watermark and unlocks higher resolutions — ₹39 for 720p, or ₹59 for 1080p (Full HD) plus the subtitle file. There is no subscription.

Can I add captions to a video without uploading it anywhere?+

Yes — this is the main thing that sets AI Caption Cut apart. Most caption tools upload your video to their servers to process it. AI Caption Cut reads the file straight from your disk and does the speech-to-text, the styling and the final render inside your own browser, on your own device. The video never leaves your computer or phone, which matters for unreleased, client or private footage.

Is there a caption editor with no subscription?+

AI Caption Cut is free to use, and charges once per video only if you want to remove the watermark. There is no monthly fee. If you caption a video every day and always want it watermark-free, a subscription tool may work out cheaper.

Can I export a video without a watermark?+

Free exports carry a small watermark in the corner. Removing it costs ₹39 for a 720p export, or ₹59 for 1080p (Full HD) with the subtitle file included — a one-off payment for that video, not a subscription. Re-exporting the same project afterwards is free.

Do I need to create an account?+

No. There is no sign-up, no email and no password. Your projects are saved in your own browser.

Is my video uploaded to a server?+

No. Your video is read directly from your disk and every step — caption generation, styling and the final render — happens inside your browser on your own device. The file never leaves your computer or phone.

What video formats can I use?+

MP4, MOV and WebM. If your browser cannot decode a file (some iPhone HEVC recordings, for example), AI Caption Cut offers to convert it for you first.

Which languages are supported?+

Speech-to-text works with many languages including English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese. Pick the language before generating captions for the most accurate timings.

Can I edit the captions afterwards?+

Yes. Change any word, retime a caption by dragging it on the timeline, and split, merge, delete or add captions by hand.

Can I use it on my phone?+

Yes. AI Caption Cut works on Android and iPhone, and can be installed to your home screen as an app. The editor has a dedicated touch layout with the timeline and tools laid out for a phone.

Does it work offline?+

Once loaded, the editor works offline. The speech-to-text model downloads the first time you generate captions and is then cached for later use.

Your video. Your machine. Your captions.
